Shutters
Conventional shutters improve light control and privacy, but should not be sold as a total-blackout solution.
Blackout blinds
Blackout fabric blocks light through the fabric, but gaps around the blind mean it does not automatically create a completely dark room.
Heat and conservatories
Internal blinds can reduce glare and improve comfort, but where solar heat is the main problem we may recommend specialist or external shading, because stopping heat before it reaches the glass is generally more effective.
